BECOMING A MOTHER - THE HONOR OF MAKING A HOUSE INTO A HOME

– Bringing back familes, one mother at a time. –

Moms are the backbone of society, we shape the future of our nation. Moms make a big part of the consumer decisions. We support our husbands or we fight through single-motherhood, often unheard in our struggles.

There are those in our society that try to tell you what is good for you. They try to tell you that you are only imagining your problems, that they are made up concerns, created by a political opponent to entice you to vote for them.
Listen to your gut feeling, you gave birth, you raise kids and you gained power through that that none of these people have!
Struggles like high prices are real, not feeling safe while walking your kids to the park is real, being worried about what your kids are exposed to in school is real. For far too long have we mothers let people talk over us, about us. For far too long have we listened to people telling us: „…you have to wait just a bit longer and all will be good…“

NO, things have to change. Moms of America unite! We are powerful, we have a voice. Be confident and don’t let anyone tell you that your concerns are not real. Our society has devalued motherhood to a point where even we as mothers question our value. But be sure of one thing: you are valuable!

Everyday is Mother’s Day for your children. We nurture them, we feed them, we teach them, we raise them to be responsible members of society. This is a 24 hour job, much more than full-time employment work. We mothers work hard, we are „just“ not employed.

I am sick and tired of this essential work not being valued in the slightest. Instead, silently, society was re-shaped to necessitated mother to work a „real-world“ job as well as being a mother. Imagine a world in which you could choose: Choose between being employed and/or raising your kids as a job.
You would have the freedom of choosing to take your kids to the park, museum or movies. You could still follow your passion (wether it be becoming a research biologist, working in HR, being a teacher in school or a nurse in a hospital) with the essential difference to the current situation that YOU HAVE THE CHOICE.

All of this is only possible if motherhood is valued for what it is: An essential piece of the foundation of our society. Oftentimes hidden, merely talked about.

Moms in America stand up, unite in our quest to re-established the value of motherhood in our society.
MAKE MOTHERS GREAT AGAIN!

Desclaimer:
I am very much learning with you. This blog is as much a self-reflection as it is a workshop. So do the same, don’t read this as a standard to follow, try your thing, give different options a go. Always remember to reflect and learn from your (and my) experiences. This is not about right or wrong, it is about the effect in the long-run.
